What many people seem to under estimate is the addiction to sugar. The phrase gets thrown around like a joke if your friend really likes Hershey’s bars.
What people don’t think about is that it may not be a joke at all. If your friend really likes cigarettes, then it would pose a significant problem because cigarettes literally give you lung cancer. So why is it funny when we see our friends eating goods that literally make them fat and sick?
Sugar addiction is a real thing, it’s not a myth.
In fact sugar has been scientifically proven to be more addictive than cocaine. In a study where 43 cocaine-addicted laboratory rats were given the choice of cocaine or sugar water over a 15-day period. 93 percent, or 40 out of 43, chose sugar. In fact, the same parts of the brain light up when on sugar, as on cocaine, but more intensely.
So not only are food industries dumping sugars into our foods to make them taste entirely different, but they are addicting us to come back for more. It is all about the money, money, money.
The food industries simply do not care about our health, their job is to sell food.
I believe if people are buying these products, they must not have the proper knowledge of the health impacts these ingredients have on our bodies.
